If one suffers from social anxiety, it's very common that he or she suffers from panic attacks as well. These two terms are not well known by most people and they are often confused, many times thought to be synonyms.

The main difference is that panic or anxiety attacks don't happen only in social anxiety related cases. In fact, social anxiety is a form of anxiety that happens in social situations and evaluation by other persons while panic attacks are triggered by several different kinds of events.

One can experience social anxiety in multitude of ways. To simplify this, people are very different from each other and we all have different reactions to speaking in public, interviews and all kinds of performances that are done where there are lots of people at present.

The most common one stands in panic attacks of course and the individual can experience different psychological reactions like sweating or blushing. Cognitive components like looking for signs of disapproval or behavioral components like avoiding the entire situation can also be experienced. If that panic attack is linked with social anxiety, the individual usually have symptoms like confusion, difficulty to breathe, increased heart rate, dizziness and problems concentrating.

After a number of episodes happen, the person that is suffering will become afraid of it happening again. This makes the problem even harder to deal with and can lead to a self imposed social ban. The good news is that panic attacks linked with social anxiety cases can be treated. There are different methods of dealing with the situation and many experts out there that can lend an important helping hand.

Becoming aware of the condition is the first step that needs to be done and then asking for assistance. Unfortunately, this is not very common and most people that suffer from social anxiety are quiet about it and simply avoid such situations that triggered the event in the first place.
